The iPubs vs The Roehampton Club was an eagerly anticipated two pair match on the excellent grass courts at Roehampton. Having been informed that this match regularly finishes in a draw, both teams were keen to upset this scoreline.

In the first round, each pair played their opposite number, with the iPubs first pair coming out on top in straight sets 6-4 6-3. In the second pair rubber, however, it was a much tighter affair. In a match that had plenty of ups and downs, the Roehampton second pair snuck the victory in a third set championship tie break.

With the match tied at one rubber each after the first round, there was everything to play for in round two. The iPubs first pair again put in another clinical performance, securing their rubber and going unbeaten for the day with a 6-4 7-5 victory. The iPubs second pair on the other hand, succumbed to a 6-2 7-5 defeat, resulting in the fixture finishing in yet another 2-2 draw!

A very enjoyable afternoon of tennis on the beautiful grass at Roehampton was complete with a pint in the clubhouse, which rounded off a satisfying draw for the iPubs team.
